Unique Features: Bird watching at Parade Rest Ranch is a uniquely rewarding experience. Over 75 different species of birds can be spotted amidst the ranch buildings, corrals, creeks and grounds. By walking, hiking or horseback ride, serious bird watchers can spot can spot American White Pelicans, Bald Eagles, Osprey and Hawks, Sandhill Cranes and even Spotted Sandpipers. Great Horned Owls, Warblers, Woodpeckers, Swallows and Wrens abound in the Aspen trees.

Accommodations: There are 15 cabins, which range from the restored original Homestead cabin built in 1919 to the newest double Aspen cabin. The cabins offer a great alternative to the standard Yellowstone Park lodging, boasting comfortable beds, modern baths, porches and several outfitted with wood burning stoves. Each cabin has a unique history and personality with a western decor of its own. Some of the guests create a special bond to certain log cabins, such as famous author Charles Kuralt’s connection to the Grayling Double cabin.

As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Aspen Cabin. Located at the base of the mountain, this upper floor cabin is the most recent edition to the ranch and overlooks the main ranch area and horse corral. It can comfortably sleep up to 7 people, with 3 bedrooms and 1 full and 2 half bathrooms. The honeymoon couples enjoy the Gibbon cabin with its more private location along Grayling Creek. If you stay in the Mammoth, ask about its colorful history!

Dining: Sweet aromas lure guests to the Dining Hall, where they enjoy hot western meals three times a day. The meals are all cooked in the ranch kitchen and served by a friendly wait staff. They specialize in hearty, ranch-style fare with meals reminiscent of family get-togethers, chicken, lasagna, chicken fried steaks, bar-b-queue ribs, all accompanied by crisp salads, hot baked rolls, fresh vegetables and homemade desserts.

Activities: You can mountain bike, hike or horseback ride on the mountain trails right from your cabin to hidden mountain lakes and unbelievable views. Try a SeeYellowstone interpretive van tour and visit the world famous Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park. Try fly-fishing in the Grayling Creek which runs near your cabin through the ranch, or visit some of the nearby Blue Ribbon fly-fishing rivers and streams in America (the Madison river, Gallatin river, Henry’s Fork and Hebgen Lake).

Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center, but with all of the amazing outdoor activities and fresh air though, you won’t need them. You can mountain bike or hike the mountain trails right from the ranch.

Location: Parade Rest Ranch is snuggled up to the west side of Yellowstone National Park and conveniently located just one mile west of the junction of US Highways 191 and 287 in southwestern Montana. The ranch is just ten miles North of West Yellowstone, Montana. West Yellowstone is a gateway to Yellowstone National Park, known for the huge Old Faithful geyser and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The park is home to wildlife like elk and bison.

Closest Airport: The nearest major airport is Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN / KBZN). This airport has domestic flights from Bozeman, Montana and is 90 miles from the center of West Yellowstone, MT. Another major airport is Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA / KIDA), which has domestic flights from Idaho Falls, Idaho and is 108 miles from West Yellowstone, MT. Jackson Hole Airport (JAC / KJAC) has domestic flights from Jackson, Wyoming and is 137 miles from West Yellowstone, MT.

Children’s Programs: No. Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs.
