Unique Features: Yosemite National Park is famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, Tunnel View, the iconic vista of towering Bridalveil Fall and the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. Did you know, the giant sequoias are among the largest and oldest living things on earth? The famous Grizzly Giant, found in Yosemite’s Mariposa Grove, is over 200′ tall and has a base circumference of almost 100 inches. This massive tree is thought to be over 2700 years old.
Accommodations: Guests at this mountain resort stay in a variety of attractive cabins scattered throughout our 20-acre property. Situated among towering pines, the spacious cabins allow couples, families and individual travelers alike to enjoy nature in comfort. The cabins are warmly furnished and feature comfy beds with feather pillows, air conditioning units, historic artwork, Alexa Devices for in-room entertainment and music, gourmet coffee brewers, electric kettles, private decks, and more. As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the magnificent John Muir House which is a beautiful 2,500 square foot rental home with three bedrooms and a large loft. The house features a master bedroom with king bed, two additional bedrooms with queen beds, a spacious loft with two queen beds, a spectacular great room with floor to ceiling windows, a full kitchen and connected dining room, three bathrooms (one with shower/tub, one with shower), a screened porch and an expansive private deck with large hot tub.
Dining: Evergreen’s main lodge is where you’ll find breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a variety of settings. Choose from a cozy dining room, an old-west front porch, a classic tavern or an open-air covered and heated patio overlooking the main plaza and surrounding woods. The classic mountain cuisine with a California twist tastes great no matter where you choose to dine! The classic all-wood tavern, a local gathering place for over 90 years, is a focal point of the property. Many people say it is their favorite bar on Earth as it combines a rich sense of history, friendly people, great drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Activities: They plunged into a whole new depth of fun when they opened a new pool area in the sunny Cedar Village area of the resort. The 2,000 square foot pool and large hot tub are filled with warm, soft saltwater that makes for hours of fun and relaxation without the usual irritation to you or the environment. Afternoon and evening activities include S’mores by the outdoor fire, a forest disc golf course, campfire sing-alongs, family hikes, Bingo and more!
Spa & Fitness: Treat yourself to an indulgent, therapeutic massage from one of the certified massage therapists. Whether you’ve spent a long day on the trail or a relaxing day at the lodge, you’ll discover a deeper dimension of peace, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Location: Yosemite National Park is one of the most spectacular places on Earth and is a recreation-lover’s paradise. Yosemite offers a diverse landscape filled with rivers, glacial carved valleys, picturesque alpine meadows and peaks, several of the world’s highest and most spectacular waterfalls, and the world’s largest trees and tallest granite walls. The Merced River, which starts in the High Country, spills over majestic Nevada and Vernal falls and flows through the Valley. Key attractions include Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, the Mist Trail, Mirror Lake and Bridalveil Fall, among others.
Closest Airport: The closest major airport to Groveland, California is Merced Regional Airport (MCE / KMCE). This airport is in Merced, California and is 70 miles from the center of Groveland. The San Francisco International Airport is 3.5 hours away.
Children’s Programs: No. Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs. When you arrive at the Evergreen, you’ll receive a program of the activities that are available for the week of your stay. Daily events range from games to guest lectures to live music. Meetings: Yes. Groups can just as easily meet in the event hall as in a nearby meadow surrounded by towering pines. The on-site event and recreation planning experts enjoy customizing meetings and events that are memorable and meaningful. They can help create an event that will leave everyone renewed and enthused.
Extra Info: The tavern is open for lunch and dinner and provides a relaxed setting to enjoy great food and libations. The tavern extends into the covered dining patio. A beautiful open-air space with views of the plaza and the woods, where you are welcome to dine as well. Many restaurant guests choose to end their meal in the tavern with dessert and a glass of port, cognac or other after-dinner drink.
