Centrally located in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains, Tarryall River Ranch was originally founded as a working cattle ranch during the Tarryall gold rush of the late 1800s. Offering a full equine program with miles of trail riding, hiking, excellent fishing, and authentic Western experiences, they strive to create a rejuvenating and restorative environment for guests to experience the beauty of Colorado and build lasting memories.

Accommodations: With several cabins and suites to choose from, they can accommodate a variety of groups. From Apache cabin, which can sleep up to ten people, to Stampede cabin with its original 1930s log & chink construction and wraparound porch, you’re sure to find something for everyone. Each cabin promises comfortable beds, private baths, and cozy living areas, complete with working fireplaces. Several of the cabins have private kitchens as well.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Frontier Lodge. Frontier, a historic lodge, is nearly one hundred years old and serves as a natural gathering place. No matter what brings them to Tarryall, guests can’t help being drawn to Frontier’s rustic charm, floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace, modern kitchen, and wide front porch. It’s only a short stroll away from the ranch’s pool, hot tub, playground, and petting zoo.
Dining: Part of any great getaway is great food! The chefs provide just that, with locally sourced ranch cuisine served family style in historic Waypoint Lodge. They can accommodate a variety of food needs without sacrificing great taste. If you’re hankering for a little something between meals, you’ll find bottomless coffee, freshly baked cookies, and a variety of snacks perfect for taking on-the-go in Waypoint’s dining room.
Activities: From horseback riding the many trails to quick-draw shooting with an experienced cowboy, opportunities for adventure await! The trail rides can be enjoyed by riders 6 and up. For your safety and piece of mind, helmets are required for riders under the age of 12 and are optional for all other participants. For the health and safety of the horses there is a 275lb weight limit for all riders.
Spa & Fitness: There is no spa or fitness center at the ranch.
Location: Tarryall River Ranch is located in the central Rocky Mountains in Park County, Colorado, adjoining Lost Creek Wilderness Area. Pike’s Peak looms to the southeast. Elevation at the ranch is 8,600 feet. At this elevation, there is an abundance of aspen and ponderosa pine. This region has plentiful wildlife, including bighorn sheep, elk, deer, bear and mountain lion.
Closest Airport: Colorado Springs, CO is 1 1/2 hours away, the Denver International Airport is 3 hours away.
Children’s Programs: No. Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs. Children will love Tarryall! Not only are there wonderful horses and fun rides, there is also the Petting Zoo, a unique jungle gym and a heated pool. Not to mention all the glorious rocks that supply endless nooks, crannies and viewpoints. The Tarryall Buckaroo Ride is for youngsters ages 2-10.
Pet Friendly: No, unfortunately pets are not allowed at the ranch. For the safety of your furry friends and the ranch animals, pets are not allowed.
Weddings: Yes. Tarryall is the perfect place for a nice small western wedding where the bride and groom are driven off after the ceremony on a horse drawn wagon!
Meetings: Yes They invite Corporate Groups or small businesses that need to get away for some brain storming or leisurely time. Combine the two ideas for some Team Building time to bring your members all on the same page.
Extra Info: The riding program at Tarryall River Ranch is designed to accommodate all riding levels and allow guests to experience extraordinary scenery within the Pike National Forest.
