Accommodations: The King Room is a cozy, spacious space with a luxurious king bed for you to rest your head after a long day in the mountains. The special Basecamp decor provides a modern feel with a rustic edge. The Two Queens rooms have two luxurious queen beds, unique amenities, plenty of room for your family and friends, and a design that marries the ruggedness of a base camp with a modern edge. The Basecamp King has a view of the lake from the top of the property. A cozy, spacious room with a luxurious king bed.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Great Indoors Family Room. Love camping, but don’t want to risk the weather or wildlife? Want the same for the kids? This room is for you! You’ll get the feeling of camping while being inside with your own bathroom and a kind bed. Complete with tent, faux fire pit, and glowing stars. Also built for sharing but with some added privacy and extra room. This unique room has a king bed as well as an attached tent walled room with a twin bunk beds and it’s own closet.
Dining: Continental breakfast is served 7:30am-10:30am in the lobby. Have fun in the Lobby for Happy Hour Specials from 5-7 pm daily with a great selection of local craft brews. Lobby Bar features local and select micro-brews, wines and snacks.
Activities: They partner with local activity guides to provide you with a link to the best area hikes, rides, and more. You can add these activities to any room booking after selecting your dates and room type to create a custom package experience. Explore the only undeveloped side of Lake Tahoe by paddleboard, Paddle along the coastline and soak up the incredible views of the Sierra Crest with a knowledgeable guide. Mountain bikers will enjoy a fast paced ride in a fantastic setting.
Spa & Fitness: There is no spa or fitness center. With all the outdoor activities though, you won’t need a fitness center. Wintertime is marked with skiing and plenty of other snow sports (including après-ski relaxing with a hot toddy). When the sun shines warmer in the summer months, the town’s easy access to the lake means that boating, waterskiing, kayaking, SUPing, swimming, fishing and lake cruises take center stage.
Location: Perched on Lake Tahoe’s north shore and at the head of the Truckee River, the small mountain town of Tahoe City is a walkable downtown community with a vibrant mix of recreation, lively culture, and natural beauty in every season. Closest Airport: Reno has the closest airport to Lake Tahoe, and it’s located just 58 miles away. They have nonstop flights from 25 destinations. Reno Airport (RNO) is a good choice if you are short on time, can get a direct flight or a connecting flight with a shorter layover. The Sacramento airport (SMF) is the next closest airport to Tahoe. It’s located 120 miles from the lake. While it’s further away, Sacramento Airport offers more direct flights than Reno, particularly from some of the smaller airports in California.
Children’s Programs: No. Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs.
Pet Friendly: Yes. They love pets at Basecamp Tahoe City and are happy to welcome your furry travel companion. For the comfort of all guests, they have short list of things that they ask all guests traveling with their pets. Pets friendly rooms are only bookable over the phone. Pet rooms can not be booked via 3rd party sites (Expedia, Booking, Travelocity, etc)
Weddings: Yes. This is an excellent choice for a beautiful wedding.
Meetings: Yes. They have a small, open room with a cozy fireplace, the Basecamp Decor and inspiring feel, perfect for an intimate meeting. TheTahoe Sun Room also features floor to ceiling windows and view of Lake Tahoe and the Southern mountains.
