Situated right on the shore of Tincup Lake close to the Kluane National Park in Canada’s Yukon Territory, surrounded by mile up upon mile of unspoiled natural landscape, Tincup Wilderness Lodge enjoys a truly unique location. The surrounding Ruby Range mountains provide views of breathtaking beauty from dawn to dusk. The Lodge can be reached only by floatplane or helicopter. Whether you actively engage in the various activities on offer, or simply spend your time relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet, your stay will be a truly unforgettable experience.
Unique Features: Tincup Lake has an outstanding reputation for its reel fishing, fly fishing and the wealth of fish in its waters. Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike and various kinds of Whitefish are but some of the species which abound in Tincup Lake and the waters surrounding it. Guests get a boat accommodating two guests. A small selection of fishing gear is at your disposal.
Accommodations: Tincup Wilderness Lodge comprises a main lodge and three somewhat smaller free-standing log cabins, each divided into two accommodation units. The lodge and cabins are built of red Canadian cedar wood, which creates very pleasant living spaces. Each accommodation unit has a separate hot-water shower and its own lavatory. LED lighting, solar-powered electricity and a woodstove are also provided.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Log Cabins. All accommodations are equally as nice.
Dining: When you are situated in one of the Yukon’s most spectacular settings, you should also be treated to the Yukon’s finest cuisine. Tincup emphasizes scrumptious, home-style meals, with an international twist. Meals are served at the main lodge at set times, and guests can arrange for picnic lunches in advance. After providing you with a hearty breakfast, they prepare exquisite soups and fresh sandwiches for lunch or a snack. Coffee and freshly baked cakes and quiches are available throughout the day.
Activities: The clean waters of the area abound with Arctic Grayling, Lake Trout, Inconnnu, Northern Pike and White Fish. Guided day hikes range from nice, easy treks along rock and gravel filled creek beds to more challenging hikes up any one of the 1500 to 2000 meter high mountains which completely surround Tincup Lake. In addition, the lodge provides guests with the use of a cedar rowing boat, canoes, one-person kayaks, stand up paddleboards (SUPs) and Lund Motorboats. Gliding over the water in virtual silence also provides excellent opportunities for observing local wildlife in its natural habitat.
Spa & Fitness: The Lodge has a wood-fired sauna and hot tub for you to enjoy, right by the lake shore. Tincup Wilderness Lodge’s quiet, isolated location offers genuine relaxation, far away from the stress of everyday life. From the veranda of your cabin you can enjoy perfect views of the lake and the mountains and you have a wealth of flora and fauna right on your doorstep. Location: Located deep in the heart of the Yukon’s Ruby Range Mountains, the lodge is an oasis of comfort surrounded by pristine wilderness and the crystal-blue waters of Tincup Lake. Tincup Lodge guests are met either at the arrivals in Whitehorse Airport or at their Whitehorse Hotel Lobby and are then transported to the Alpine Aviation floatplane dock.
Closest Airport: Transfers from Whitehorse to the Lodge and back to Whitehorse are included in the price, Transfers are 08:00 am.
Children’s Programs: No. They are happy to welcome families with youngsters aged 14 and above. Please note that the range of leisure activities suitable for youngsters is limited.
