Escape to your private Durango, Colorado Cabin situated on the Florida River under the Colorado sky. They’re just a stone’s throw from the San Juan National Forest, two large lakes and horse trail rides. Plus the best trout fishing you’ll find in these parts is right out your cabin door! At first glance the cabins have a rustic charm about them but once you step inside you’ll notice the not-so-rustic amenities including well equipped kitchens, updated bathrooms, flat screen TVs with satellite and DVD player, plus WiFi internet.

Unique Features: Pet Friendly Cabins Available .They know how much your canine friends mean to you, so they have created pet-friendly accommodations that allow you to bring your furry friends along for all of your adventures. Please read all the Dog-Friendly policies.

Accommodations: All cabins have fully equipped kitchens, views out picture windows that face the river, stone or gas fireplaces, and covered porches or redwood decks. For the comfort of all guests, O-Bar-O is a smoke free property. If reserving one of the pet friendly cabins (Creekside, Birdsnest, Bluespruce, Aspen or Ponderosa) please advise what kind of dog, age, gender and size. A pet fee will be applied to your reservation.

As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Hummingbird Cabin with 2 Queen Beds and Queen Sleeper Sofa and 2 Bathrooms. This cabin sleeps 6. Full of charm, this two-story, two-bedroom duplex cabin is just steps from the river’s edge. Relax on your large deck under clear Colorado skies with its gas grill and covered porch. As always there’s a fully equipped kitchenette and a gas fireplace.

Dining: There is no on-site restaurant but they can easily recommend some great restaurants nearby. All the cabins have complete kitchens with cooking appliances. These large fully outfitted kitchens and dining nooks face the river so you can enjoy the sights and sounds as the water rushes by.

Activities: There’s so much to do in and around O-Bar-O! The Florida River flows right through the property. You can fly fish just outside your cabin or take short trips to other great fishing hot spots such as Lake Vallecito and the Lemon Dam Reservoir. O-Bar-O is only 10 minutes from the restaurants, shops and fun outdoor activities in Durango. After a day of hiking and fishing, it’s a pleasure to relax at the riverside hot tub or gather around the campfire during the evening.

Spa & Fitness: They do offer a great Tee-Pee Massage.

Location: Durango is a small city in southwestern Colorado, near the New Mexico border. The 19th-century Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad steam train passes mountains and canyons. In the city center, its affiliated Railroad Museum displays restored locomotives, aircraft and a baggage car converted into a movie theater. Nearby, the Powerhouse Science Center offers interactive exhibits in a former power plant.

Closest Airport: The nearest major airport is Durango-La Plata County Airport (DRO / KDRO). This airport has domestic flights and is 15 miles from the center of Durango, CO. Another major airport is Cortez Municipal Airport (CEZ / KCEZ), which has domestic flights from Cortez, Colorado and is 50 miles from Durango, CO.

Children’s Programs: No. Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs.

Pet Friendly: Yes. They do have many pet-friendly cabins. For example: The Ponderosa Cabin. One of their dog-friendly accommodations, this rustic turn of the century single story, two-bedroom cabin features a vintage living room fireplace. The large fully outfitted kitchen and dining nook face the river so you can enjoy the sights and sounds as the water rushes by.

Weddings: No. They do not normally host weddings but they may by special request.

Meetings: No. They do not have the facilities to host large business meetings.

Extra Info: Experience life along the Florida River. All the cabins are so close to the river that its sounds will lull you to sleep. The next morning you’re just steps away from great fly fishing. Catch and release some nice local browns, brook, rainbows or even a tiger trout or cutthroat. Fishing at O-Bar-O is catch and release only with the use of artificial flies and single point barb-less hooks.
