They combine a love of the outdoors with luxury amenities, accommodations, extraordinary experiences, and masterful cuisine. Breathe in the air of rejuvenation, soak in the warm geothermal waters of the grounds, and prepare to stand at the edge of adventure.
Unique Features: Welcome to your own personal fly-fishing mecca. The Middle Fork has been a catch and release fishery since the 1970s and the river maintains a robust and healthy population of native fish. West slope cutthroat trout (Salmo clarki) and rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) are in abundance and grow up to 16 inches. Fishing is done with barbless hooks.
Accommodations: Middle Fork Lodge offerings include 7 private hand built custom log cabins with sitting decks, king size beds, private baths, sumptuous linens and plush robes. The River House is nestled into the banks of the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. This cabin features a shared deck overhanging the river’s edge, two separate but adjoining rooms, each with its own king size bed, full bath and individual outside entrances. The River Cabins include views of the property and the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Honeymoon Cabin which is situated on a small rise near the Main Lodge. This private cabin includes a sitting deck with a view of the river and the geothermal pool. It has a king size bed and full bath.
Dining: The chef prepared meals are sure to please the most discriminating palettes with the seasonal garden-fresh herbs, vegetables and fruit grown on-site in the outdoor garden, orchard and geothermal heated greenhouse. The beloved MFL hens produce eggs that will be made to order your-style each morning, with breads and pastries baked fresh daily. MFL is committed to using local, regional and organic ingredients with scratch cooking represented in every meal.
Activities: The Middle Fork Lodge sits in the middle of one of the most sought after 6 day whitewater rafting and fishing stretches in the United States. Unique to your stay, your group of 8 or more can take a 2-4 night guided rafting trip that ends or begins on the banks of the Lodge property or do the entire 6-day rafting trip with them. Horseback riding is one of the best ways to experience the beauty of the River of No Return Wilderness. These trips are guided and open to all experience levels.
Spa & Fitness: There is no spa or fitness center. Whether your interests are a quiet hike along the Middle Fork of the Salmon River or a challenging mountain climb, they provide trips for all ages and fitness levels. These excursions also offer an excellent opportunity to see the local wildlife in their natural habitat.
