Welcome to Bar Lazy J Guest Ranch, an all-inclusive Colorado dude ranch located near Rocky Mountain National Park. The Bar Lazy J is nestled in a peaceful valley along the banks of the Colorado River and is considered the oldest continuously operating Colorado dude ranch. Since 1912 this family-friendly ranch has been welcoming guests for recreation and relaxation. That’s over 100 years of sharing lasting memories!
Unique Features: While you can easily pack a week’s worth of fun right at the ranch, there are also lots of adventures off-site including the rodeo, white water rafting, cattle drive, hot air ballooning, guided fishing excursions, Rocky Mountain National Park, golf and a whole lot more!
Accommodations: The Bar Lazy J Guest Ranch lodging accommodates ranch guests in 12 comfortable, private log cabins, each is uniquely named after famous fishing flies or wildflowers. While the original log cabins have been modernized, the look of the Old West has been retained. The majority of the dude ranch cabins sit along the beautiful Colorado River, so you and your family can share memories relaxing in the log riverside furniture by day and stargaze under the big Colorado night sky every evening.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the cabins. All of the cabins are cleaned daily and can comfortably accommodate from two to eight guests depending on the particular cabin. Each cabin offers an open or screened-in porch within view and a short walk of the river. Within you’ll find King or Queen-size beds, twin beds in the 2nd bedrooms, dressers, closets, lovely western furnishings, bright rugs, and a variety of modern day amenities, such as soft linens, coffee maker, refrigerator and much more.
Dining: Scrumptious meals are served three times daily and are accompanied with delights such as homemade breads, pastries, and desserts. After meals, join friends and family for a game or some relaxation by the crackling fire in the lodge’s historic sitting room. Although they do not serve alcoholic beverages, you are more than welcome to bring any refreshments you would like to the ranch. If you need a ride to town or would like them to do the shopping for you, just let them know. There is no extra charge for this service.
Activities: Whether you are new to horseback riding, a very experienced rider or somewhere in between, they have the perfect horse waiting for you. They are proud to maintain a herd of over 100 top notch horses, which accommodate all levels of riding ability. Additional activities include Gold Medal fly fishing, trap shooting, Colorado River zip-line, guided hikes, mountain bikes, heated pool and hot tub, Kids’ Program, unforgettable evening entertainment and much, much more!
Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center, but with all of the amazing outdoor activities and fresh air though, you won’t need them. The mountain air will invigorate you as you zip over the Colorado River from the new attraction, the Zip Line!
Location: Parshall is a tiny town tucked between Hot Sulphur Springs and Kremmling on US Highway 40. If making the drive past Parshall, you’re probably coming to or from Steamboat Springs. The small village consists of an array of homes, a church, a post office and evidence of a fire in part of the town. There’s one bar/restaurant, known as The Parshall Inn, which is usually open every day. Stop by for a pint and a burger on your way past town.
