The Tumbling River Ranch is more than just your typical vacation, it’s a place where you can go to discover a new passion, explore incredible mountain scenery, and connect with those around you. It will change your perception of what a vacation should be! Set in the central Colorado Rockies, you’ll experience unparalleled natural beauty at every turn. The Cabins are loaded with charm and beauty and all the amenities you need to relax in comfort.
Unique Features: The trout of Boxwood Gulch are some of the largest in the Rocky Mountain West. The largest fish caught at Boxwood last season was a 34 inch-long rainbow trout weighing over 10 pounds! Trout above 24″ are very common, as are double-digit days. Target species include: Rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, cutthroat trout, tiger trout, and even the elusive Palomino trout.
Accommodations: The ranch offers outstanding facilities, with a selection of cabins with fireplaces and private baths, and two historic lodges with spacious rooms and suites. While many of the guest cabins date back to the ranch’s beginnings in the 1940s, you can be assured that each accommodation is spacious, comfortable and full of personal touches. While you are staying in one of the mountain rustic cabin, you will feel all the comforts of home.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Pueblo House which was built as a summer home for the Coors family. It is as unique as it is beautiful, with space for the entire crew. The House features its own stocked pond, a game room, 7-guest bedrooms with fireplaces, and endless charm. The huge living room with massive fireplace is the perfect gathering spot for the entire family.
Dining: Meals are a source of pride. Everything is home-made. Fresh breads and tasty desserts guarantee that you and your kids will be more than satisfied. Typical dinners will feature a wide range of entrees, including tri-tip roasts, pork tenderloin, grilled salmon, smoked trout, barbecued chicken and ribs, and all you can eat! If you have special dietary restrictions, please contact the ranch ahead of time.
Activities: The horseback riding trails range from short to long, from beginner to advanced. Each day, guided rides are offered in the morning and afternoon. Some of the longer rides will stop for a picnic lunch in a wildflower-covered alpine meadow, or atop one of the local peaks, just above timberline. Guests can now fish at nearby Boxwood Gulch which is widely considered one of the best spots for fly fishing not only in Colorado, but in the Western United States. They also offer exciting whitewater rafting.
Spa & Fitness: Tumbling River offers body movement classes such as yoga, fitness classes that include weights as well as high cardio options. They have a resident massage therapist as well, which makes Tumbling River the perfect destination for reviving your mind, rejuvenating your body, and invigorating your spirit. Throughout the week, they also offer fitness classes. These classes range from trail running excursions to timed interval classes with body weight and dumbbells.
