Blue sky, emerald green pine trees and granite cliffs frame all of your adventures at Taylor River Lodge. Formerly used as a locals general store for fishing and tackle, this remote Colorado property, located in the outskirts of Crested Butte in Taylor Canyon, has since been transformed into a private, eight-cabin retreat. After a day outdoors, steam and soak in the Bathhouse or cozy up in the main lodge with a good book. Evenings take on a campfire vibe with stargazing and s’mores around the fire pit.

Location: Located between Gunnison and Crested Butte, where the tumbling waters of the Taylor and East rivers meet to form the Gunnison River, Almont is small-town Colorado at its best. In mining times, ore from area camps was brought to Almont to be transported via rail to Gunnison. When the railroad folded and the mining boom ended, people stayed to live in Almont’s tranquil, resort-like setting. Rustic cabins still dot the landscape, and time seems to move a little slower.
Closest Airport: The closest major airport to Almont, Colorado is Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC / KGUC). This airport is in Gunnison, Colorado and is 13 miles from the center of Almont, CO.

The design blends international touches, like Moroccan rugs and Indian block-printed pillows with vintage finds, such as hickory wood rocking chairs and antler-framed mirrors.
