Howdy, and welcome to Stehekin Valley Ranch! Tucked in the heart of the North Cascades in Washington State, Stehekin Valley Ranch is where your next adventure awaits. There are endless activities and adventures to be had when you stay at the Ranch. Choose from kayaking, horseback riding, electric bikes, hiking, fishing, or a relaxing massage. Then cap off your day by swinging your stress away in a hammock while taking in the views of the mountains.
Unique Features: A “Green” Approach is what makes Stehekin Valley Ranch so unique. The main source of power is solar. It is a great system, but they cannot handle high powered devices such as hair dryers, so relax and give your hair a break on this vacation too! They also keep it fresh by growing or purchasing as much locally grown and organic produce as possible. Don’t mind the cute chickens roaming around, they provide the eggs for breakfast!
Accommodations: Stehekin Valley Ranch has several types of cabins to choose from. If you’re looking for more of a glamping experience, the Tent Cabins are just the thing. You get the feel of camping but with nice beds to sleep in! For those looking for a less rustic stay, the Ranch Cabins are fully enclosed with electricity. Two of them also come with a kitchenette. There are also some Ranch Wagons which are extremely popular. They are a cozy get-away for two, and come with all the amenities found in the larger Ranch Cabins.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Ranch Cabins which are a great hit for those who aren’t ready to go the rustic route of the glamping tents. Ranch Cabins are fully enclosed sleeping cabins with their own private bathroom with shower. These cabins also have electric lights, and limited outlets. Furnished with queen and twin beds, a futon or daybed, armiore, and a table with chairs, guests find these cozy cabins to be quite comfortable.
Dining: Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included when you stay at the Ranch! So take a load off and let the first rate cooks delight your taste-buds with fresh made meals each day. If you are going out and about during the day, you can pack a sack lunch. They do their best to accommodate folks with special dietary needs. Vegetarians can be accommodated, but it is good to know about it in advance.
Activities: There is plenty to do and fun to be had at Stehekin Valley Ranch. Whether it’s hiking, kayaking or just relaxing in a hammock. Try e-biking. Combine the fun of bicycling with help of electricity on the hills. Kayak tours of Lake Chelan’s upper estuary are offered daily. For horseback riding, try out the awesome offerings from Stehekin Outfitters and satisfy your inner cowboy or cowgirl.
Spa & Fitness: The Ranch offers a variety of massages. The massage therapist can help you relax on your vacation or get your muscles back in shape for your next adventure. While Swedish Massage is by far the most popular, they can do many other forms of massage as well, including Deep Tissue, let them know what you are interested in.
Location: Located at the head of Lake Chelan, there are no roads connecting this small community to the outside world. Be prepared to take a boat, plane, horse, or your own two feet to get there. Most people travel to the city of Chelan, and then travel 50 miles via passenger ferry boat to get to Stehekin. Some choose to spend time in Chelan before continuing up to Stehekin.
Closest Airport: Seattle, Washington is 3 hours away by car or Chelan Seaplanes offers float plane service from Chelan to Stehekin. Take the Stehekin Ferry. This boat provides a great schedule for overnight guests visiting Stehekin, departing Field’s Point (on the south shore, 20 miles uplake from the town of Chelan) at 1pm to head uplake. Will also get you back to your car by 12:30pm to head home.
Children’s Programs: No. Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs.
Pet Friendly: No. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Weddings: Yes. They can easily host a great wedding.
Meetings: No. They do not have the facilities to host large business meetings.
Extra Info: The Stehekin Ferry will pick you up at Field’s Point at 1pm, a great option for those with a long drive. You will be met at the Stehekin dock at 2:45pm, and be brought to the Ranch in time to settle in or even take an eBike out for a spin before dinner.
