Situated on a mountainside with views reaching 75 miles to the Continental Divide, Latigo Ranch offers over 200 miles of horseback riding trails throughout 40,000 acres of National Forest. This incredible ranch was founded over 90 years ago, and they honor that heritage by providing enhanced facilities and activities year after year. If eating is your forte, they definitely deliver. All-inclusive gourmet contemporary cuisine will delight your taste buds throughout the week.
Unique Features: Latigo Ranch guests, who have skied all over the state, proclaim that Latigo Ranch offers some of the finest cross-country skiing available in Colorado. They machine groom 50km of trails, covering varied terrain from flat beginning track to challenging advanced terrain. All of the cross country ski track is groomed for both classic and skate skiing. For backcountry or telemark aficionados, they are surrounded by over 200 square miles of deep powder in the National Forest.
Accommodations: The cabins are modern log structures with a sitting room and fireplace or woodburning stove and daily maid service. Each guest unit has a refrigerator for your personal needs and snacks. It’s stocked with complimentary soft drinks. There is a coffee maker, and hair dryers are available. All of the bathrooms are configured with a tub/shower combination. Staff will clean your room and change your towels daily or as needed. They also keep your container of homemade caramel corn topped off. The chairs on your porch are perfect when you want to read or just sit back and soak in the Rocky Mountain beauty.
As Suite As It Gets: The three-bedroom suites, geared for families, include a separate sitting room and single bathroom. There’s an extra vanity with sink located in the master bedroom. The accommodations are fully-carpeted, except for the tile floors in the bathrooms, and they have electric baseboard heat in each room. There is a queen-size bed in the master bedroom and a full-size double in the other bedrooms.
Dining: The day begins with an extensive array of breakfast opportunities including fresh fruit, yogurt, and homemade granola, to pancakes, waffles, eggs any style, and house-smoked bacon. After mornings spent in the saddle, breathing invigorating mountain air, you’ll saunter through the lunch buffet. Here they serve different hot entrees each day such as homemade pizza, beef and bison burgers on the grill, or pasta with homemade sauces. When the dinner bell rings, and you sit down at a white cloth draped table.
Activities: Whether you’re venturing to Latigo for the outdoor experiences or just looking for a technology detox getaway, summertime at the ranch is full of a wide-range of activities to suit your desires. You can choose to fill your day with horseback riding, fly fishing, mountain biking, hikes, shooting, rafting, and more. Location: The Town of Kremmling is a small town in Grand County, Colorado. The town population was 1444 at the 2010 United States Census. The town sits along the upper Colorado River in the lower arid section of Middle Park between Byers Canyon and Gore Canyon.
Closest Airport: It is usually most convenient to fly into Denver (DEN). Denver, Colorado is 130 miles, a 3 hour drive away. Another major airport close to Kremmling, Colorado is Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN / KHDN). This airport is in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and is 76 miles from the center of Kremmling, CO.
Children’s Programs: Yes. Structured activities throughout the day keep youngsters occupied and entertained. While parents are on their trail rides, children are supervised in fun and educational activities. For some activities, parents want to be with their children; at other times they would like to be able to do things separately. The children’s program is not mandatory. A family can do everything together, but they have found that most children prefer to be with their peers and counselor whenever possible.
Pet Friendly: No, unfortunately pets are not allowed.
Weddings: No. They don’t host weddings.
Meetings: Yes. They can handle group meetings up to 50, but the overnight accommodations are limited to 10 individual units, 6 with 3 bedrooms each and 4 single-bedroom units.
Extra Info: At Latigo Ranch, they offer fly-fishing on the many streams and rivers as well as instruction for those new to the sport. Ranch anglers will show you the best tips and tricks, locations, and technique to turn you into a pro. And to make your travels a little easier, they offer full fishing equipment to all guests so there’s no need to lug yours through your travels.
