Each day, choose the activities that match your interest and energy level.
Unique Features: As the only wilderness lodge within Alaska’s 700,000-acre Kenai Fjords National Park, a stay at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge offers unparalleled wilderness access for your Alaska vacation! The massive Harding Icefield, where ice is up to one mile deep, crowns the park and is the source of over thirty glaciers. These rivers of ice are receding at an astonishing rate. As the glaciers retreat, rock is uncovered and the process of soil building begins.
Accommodations: Sixteen guest cabins with views of Pedersen Lagoon and connected via a network of elevated boardwalks to the main lodge area; Cozy interiors with lodge-style furnishings, linens, blankets, on demand heat and electricity; private en-suite bathroom and private porch; Off the grid (no internet or cell service).
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the cabins. All are equally as nice. The main lodge is gorgeous, with an eco-friendly timber construction built to minimize the impact on the natural area. There is a large dining room with panoramic views of Pedersen Lagoon and Glacier as well as comfortable lounge with seating area and wood stove.
Dining: Meals are a highlight of every trip. Highly skilled and imaginative cooks emphasize freshness and flavor. From delicious Alaskan seafood with fresh garden salad, to homemade breads and rolls, to decadent desserts, you will be amazed at how well you can eat in the wilderness. They’re able to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements with advance notice, and there will be opportunities to let us know about those during the booking process.
Activities: One of Alaska Wildland Adventures’ greatest attributes is the wide array of guided activities available to intrepid travelers on all of the Alaska Adventures and Lodge Packages. Connect with nature through a variety of rafting, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing and other guided activities. Guided activities are offered “at your own pace,” with casual, moderate and challenging options to best suit personal travel goals. The amazing naturalist guides will lead the way and provide safety briefings, instruction and wilderness interpretation on each excursion.
Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center, but with all of the amazing outdoor activities and fresh air though, you won’t need them. Get ready to experience Alaska’s backcountry on a myriad of established trails, while learning about Alaska’s unique flora and fauna. It’s common to spot wildlife from a safe distance while on the trail, and the approach includes ample time to stop and smell the wildflowers, snap unforgettable photos and enjoy some trail snacks and a gourmet pack lunch.
