Crater Lake Resort offers affordable year-round lodging, camping and grocery shopping near Crater Lake National Park. Located in the Upper Klamath Basin, an area rich with history and natural beauty, Crater Lake Resort is great for extended stays and adventures beyond your visit to the National Park. They also offer glamping. For those not familiar with the term, “glamping” combines the “glamourous” comforts of home with the experience of getting outdoors and “camping.”
Unique Features: To say Crater Lake is remote is an understatement. The area surrounding the park is a vast forest of nothing, aside from majestic mountains, gorgeous lakes, and tiny communities which provide the most basic of services. There are no fast food restaurants, no major department stores, or even a choice of gas stations near Crater Lake, and that is part of the appeal. Remote, beautiful, and unbelievably scenic, Crater Lake National Park is a one-of-a-kind spot that must be visited.
Accommodations: The cabins are private, clean and beautifully done with motel-like interiors. All cabins include necessary linens, and have full bathrooms and kitchenettes stocked with cooking and dining necessities. The creekside cabins offer beautiful views and private decks with gas BBQs. There are also several glamping tents, tent sites and RV hookups. Glamping is like visiting an incredible outdoor destination and camping in a canvas tent, except your site is fully furnished with a cozy queen bed.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Full-kitchen cabins. For longer stays, events, or larger groups, they have three full-kitchen Rentals. These can accommodate up to 6 guests depending on the unit selected and each features a large kitchen with full size appliances. Full Kitchen Rentals offer thoughtful amenities and complement the quiet beauty of our creekside resort.
Dining: There is no restaurant but there is a great store. The camp store is stocked with snacks and drinks for day trips, unique gifts as well as everything you’ll need for a delicious dinner, including local beer wine.
Activities: There are many great opportunities for hiking, bird watching, biking, hunting, fly fishing and kayaking. You will have room to roam on this 12 acre property. There are two bridges across the creek to complete a great walking path for you and your dog. They also have many outside games including a pickle ball court. Canoes are free for guest use on Fort Creek. You’ll experience Oregon at its finest on your 3 hour tour with Crater Lake ZipLine.
Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center.
Location: Somewhat surprising, considering the wide-sweeping natural beauty the state possesses, Crater Lake is Oregon’s only national park. Oregon is known for many things, chief among them the slopes of Mount Hood, the quirkiness of Portland, the rocky Pacific Coast, the winds and brews along Hood River, and the ridiculously rad town of Bend. It is also known for the Goonies, and for being the final destination for Lewis and Clark, and the ending of the Oregon Trail.
Closest Airport: The closest major airport to Fort Klamath, Oregon is Klamath Falls Airport (LMT / KLMT).
Children’s Programs: Although they welcome your children, they do not have any supervised children’s programs.
Pet Friendly: Yes. They do allow pets. There is a small fee per night per pet. They allow a maximum of 3 pets per site. They respectfully request that guests keep their pets on a leash at all times and pick up after their pets.
Weddings: Yes. They can easily help you host a beautiful rustic wedding. They are conveniently located 9 miles from Crater Lake National Park and 35 miles from Klamath Falls.
Meetings: No, unfortunately, they simply don’t have the space to accommodate large groups.
Extra Info: Tent sites are spacious and fully grassed, with room for multiple tents to accommodate up to 10 people. RV sites with full-hookups and partial hook-up sites are available to accommodate recreational vehicles of all types and up to 40’ long. Picnic tables, BBQs and fire pits are available at every tent and RV site. A large community fire pit and gas grill are available for all guest use.
