Accommodations: Your accommodations during your stay are relaxing comfort with a casual flair. The cabins are your home away from home, and just the spot to rest up from your busy adventure vacation’s activities. They offer several cabin options to accommodate all guests. The cabins included in the adventure vacation packages feature private baths for each bedroom, daily housekeeping, and inviting porches just right for watching the sunset or visiting with new friends.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Four Bedroom Cabins. The Lake and Remuda Cabins are almost identical and are only rented as 4 bedrooms. Each have separate entrances and a total of 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Each side or section of the cabin has a main room with a king bed and bathroom with a tub/shower. In Lake, the other room has a double bunk and a single bunk (or a double bed and a single bunk) and a bathroom with a tiled stall shower.
Dining: Everyone raves about the food. It is one part gourmet and one part homemade goodness, always high quality, healthy and sensational. Every part of a vacation should be pure pleasure, and on the ranch, you have the opportunity to indulge yourself in scrumptious, yet wholesome food. Menus are fulfilling, diverse and satisfying to both adults and children alike. Even your picky eaters will be thrilled with the delicious meals that are part of the all inclusive vacation packages.
Activities: Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, swimming, and fishing, along with other outdoor activities. The fun doesn’t end with the setting sun, there are always evening events for guests. Nighttime activities include hayrides, Western dancing, campfires and much more. Horseback riding in Colorado is an incredibly unique way to experience the terrain. Discovering the vast mountain ranges, riding alongside a creek, or loping across a meadow, it’s easy to feel like you’re in a movie or fairy tale.
Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center, but with all of the amazing outdoor activities and fresh air though, you won’t need them. Enjoy white water rafting on the Animas River with a professional outfitter, guided nature hikes in the mountains and forests, swimming in the heated pool, volleyball, basketball and pickleball on the new Sport Court.
Location: Colorado Trails Ranch is just 12 miles northeast of the historic mining town of Durango, Colorado. The 450 acres of dude ranch property are nestled in a beautiful mountain valley and shares a property line with the two-million acre San Juan National Forest. The valley the dude ranch sits in has an elevation of 7,500 feet. From there, the ridges and mountains sweep up to provide a panorama of beautiful, undeveloped country in every direction you look.
Closest Airport: Fly into Durango on one of the non-stop flights from Denver, Phoenix or Dallas/Ft. Worth. Ranch staff will provide your transportation free of charge for both your arrival and departure, if you choose the local Durango Airport.
Children’s Programs: Yes. The kids’ and teens’ programs are geared to small groups per counselor and ages are divided into similar maturity and skill levels, much as are used at school. This allows youngsters to really enjoy making new friends and all their group’s activities. Once they arrive and begin their own adventure with other kids their age, they’ll be so busy having fun and spending time with the family, the complaining evaporates.
Pet Friendly: No. Unfortunately, because of all the animals on the ranch, they can’t accommodate pets. However, there’s an excellent kennel they can refer you to in town should this be needed.
Weddings: Yes. They offer a wedding package for up to 45 guests, The Package includes: 2 nights lodging (Friday and Saturday) during the months of August, September, and October, Saturday wedding ceremony with choice of locations, a horse drawn wagon and antique truck to transport wedding party to ceremony location, use of lodge dining room the day of the event for set up and decoration, wedding reception in lodge, reception appetizers and dinner buffet.
Meetings: Yes. For building great working relationships, there is nothing quite like the unique outdoor adventures at Colorado Trails Ranch. The inspiring scenery, peaceful environment and outdoor team building activities are excellent for opening up strong communication between professionals, and enriching positive interactions between partners, management and employees.
Extra Info: A long standing favorite of visitors to the area is taking the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge train ride. If you’re interested in adding the train to your vacation, they recommend you do the train ride before or after your stay, as you won’t want to miss a full day of ranch activities.
