Welcome to Circle Z Ranch, a vacation experience that will envelop you in a time and place when days were spent on horseback and nights under a blaze of stars. This historic ranch is nestled in Southern Arizona’s Sky Islands, known for its vast grasslands and vaulting mountain ranges. Guided by expert wranglers, you will explore trails across thousands of acres so scenic they’ve been the setting for many Western movies. This is ranch life at its best. An experience that keeps guests coming back time and time again.
Unique Features: Circle Z Ranch is the oldest, continually operating guest ranch in Arizona and as a family owned and operated ranch they take great pride in their traditions. Nestled in the heart of the Sonoran Desert in Southern Arizona, this property has longed been held and appreciated as conservation land for present and future generations. Distinct to the ranch property is the protected and ever-flowing Sonoita Creek, creating a lush riparian oasis.
Accommodations: Dotted around the pristine property are several types of cottages, each perfectly appointed with outdoor patios for relaxing in the Arizona sunshine. Each is newly remodeled with tile bathrooms, carpeted floors, and oh-so comfy beds. Looking for accommodations for singles or couples, then the standard kings are guest favorites. Feel the need for a little extra space to kick off your boots, then the one bedroom suites with large living rooms are your ticket. The two and three bedroom cottages make those family and friend reunions extra special.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for Casa Rosa which contains eight king standard rooms with private baths. Each bed can be configured as a king or two twins, depending on your preference. The two queen standard rooms with private baths are located in Casa Azteca.
Dining: Three meals a day are served in the colorful dining room, located in the lodge. The ranch is well known for their delicious dining experiences, and offer only the best in cuisine. The three buffet meals provide great variety, from fresh fruits and vegetables, breads baked in the ovens, and a variety of entrees. They also offer three cookouts each week: Monday Night Steak Cookout, Wednesday’s Picnic Cookout, and our Saturday Chuck-Wagon.
Activities: In addition to the amazing horseback riding adventures, there are a variety of activities at the Circle Z. There are campfire nights with s’mores, nightly social hour, weekly calf roping demonstrations, and plenty of outdoor space for enjoying those Arizona blues skies and legendary sunsets. The facilities also include a tennis and pickleball court, game room and an outdoor swimming pool. A local naturalist will guide you on an educational nature walk through the native habitats of the property and of the night sky.
Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center, but with all of the amazing outdoor activities and fresh air though, you won’t need them. Go on a hike and enjoy the wide variety of interesting animals. Famous for serious bird watching, the area is a nesting site and migrating route for many rare species. Keep a keen eye out for the special wildlife that lives in the area. Deer, wild boar, bobcats, rabbits, and coati mundi thrive among the trees and a wide variety of cacti.
