At Chelatna Lake Lodge they combine world-class Alaska trout fishing, luxurious lodging, delicious cuisine, and personal, friendly service to offer you the Alaska vacation of a lifetime. Your remote lodge experience will be unparalleled. Fly-fish for Alaska rainbow trout along a pristine mountain stream, go hiking and view spectacular Denali National Park, boat around and explore one of Alaska’s most beautiful settings, or simply relax and take a lakeside sauna and swim.
Unique Features: They are the only lodge on the eight mile long lake, and at the top of Lake Creek. Being based right next to the southern border of Denali National Park enables them to share the park exclusively with lodge guests. Professionally trained guides accompany you to ensure that you have an experience that you will never forget.
Accommodations: The lodging is deluxe, featuring four two-bedroom cedar chalets, an impressive main lodge and dining room, a separate lodge for recreating, and a lakeside sauna, all beautifully situated facing one of the most outstanding views that Mother Nature has provided. The main lodge is a majestic cedar chalet overlooking the aquamarine waters of the lake and the breathtaking Alaska Range. It is the perfect place for relaxing with other guests, swapping adventure stories, all the while enjoying deliciously prepared appetizers and meals.
As Suite As It Gets: When money is no object, go for the Chalets. Imagine staying in a beautiful chalet with a large glassed-in prow front living room and spacious deck. Each chalet is situated lakeside, allowing for spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The chalets all have two bedrooms and two private bathrooms, wall-to-wall carpeting, gas heat, 24-hour electricity and all the hot water you’ll need to ensure your total comfort, just perfect for relaxing in the “Land of the Midnight Sun.”
Dining: The dining room atmosphere is relaxed and sumptuous all at the same time. Meals are brought directly to your table by friendly staff, as you sit and relax and enjoy panoramic views from every seat. Hearty delicious meals, specially prepared by an expert chef are presented daily with home baked breads and desserts and the freshest of ingredients.
Activities: One of the most popular activities is a private day hike into Denali National Park. Lodge guides will take you up into the park via an ascending trail that first leads you through alpine meadows exploding with wildflowers, then along meandering streambeds with cascading waterfalls, and as you head uphill, you hike along the towering rock faces that herald the beginning of the majestic Alaska Range.
Spa & Fitness: There is no on-site spa or fitness center, but with all of the amazing outdoor activities and fresh air though, you won’t need them. A wood-fired sauna set at the water’s edge helps work out the kinks after an active day. If you are feeling on the extra warm side and maybe a little bit bold, perhaps a jump in the lake to cool down.
Location: Chelatna Lake Lodge is located one-hundred scenic miles northwest of Anchorage, less than an hour’s flight away. The fishing lodge is accessible only by airplane; there are no roads to the property. This not only keeps the lodge exclusively for clients, but allows you a perfect opportunity to experience a “The real Alaska bush adventure.” Chelatna Lake Lodge is located near the border of Denali National Park. If you feel up to a real flying adventure, they recommend adding on a Denali flightseeing tour to either your arriving or departing flight into Chelatna Lake.
Closest Airport: Anchorage, Alaska is served by many major airlines. You will have no problem getting to Anchorage via a commercial airline flight from any part of the world directly into Anchorage International Airport. Directly adjacent to Anchorage International Airport is world famous bush plane base, Lake Hood. From there you will jump on a bush plane and depart for the lodge.
